Steeped in history, The Beacon began as Rusthall Beacon, an Arts and Crafts-style home commissioned by Sir Walter Harris in the late 1800s. Over the years, it became a place of refuge — sheltering Basque children during the Spanish Civil War and later Jewish girls fleeing Nazi Germany. Since the 1950s, it has evolved into a boutique hotel and restaurant, retaining its original character while offering a warm, welcoming space for memorable experiences.
