Some mornings the mist sits so low in Happy Valley that the Summer House seems to float. You wake to it through glass, pull back the linen, and step straight out onto your own deck with nothing ahead but the treetops and the long blue line of the Weald.

Our seventh bedroom sits apart from the house — a short walk down the garden path and was built for slowing right down. Warm plaster walls, an old cast-iron radiator, a bed dressed in hand-tufted Berber throws, and folding glass doors that open the whole room to the valley.

Book a table in our Dining Room and wander back down the path afterwards. Take a glass of Chapel Down out to the slatted chairs, wrap yourself in a blanket, and watch the light leave the valley one ridge at a time.

The Summer House sits a short walk down the garden path from the main house. The path is lit, but uneven in places — we are happy to help with luggage.

Perched above the valley with breathtaking views, Yarrow is a room made for indulgence. It features a grand Super King bed, private en-suite, and a striking round copper bathtub set within the Princess Turret window. BLACKTHORN
Tucked at the far end of the main house, Blackthorn offers sweeping views across Happy Valley. With moody dusty black walls and a chic monochrome interior, this striking room boasts a King-size bed, private en-suite, and a freestanding bathtub within the room itself. Every stay is enhanced by a minibar, toiletries, hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities, radio, Wi-Fi, and TV.
EYEBRIGHT
For the dreamers, Eyebright offers the most spectacular panoramic views of Happy Valley. An oversized window frames the treetops, creating a magical backdrop for the cosy double bed. This room includes a private en-suite, minibar, toiletries, hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities, radio, Wi-Fi, and TV — intimate in size, yet unmatched in outlook.
BURDOCK

THE HOLLY HUT
A Shepherd’s Hut has arrived at The Beacon, handcrafted by local makers Hurkle Huts. Clad in black charred larch with a glowing, timber-lined interior, it’s a cosy, design-led retreat surrounded by nature. You enter the hut via beautiful Iroko steps with a landing.
Comprising of a King size bed, walk-in Shower, sitting perfectly on the edge of Happy Valley providing spectacular views. Other amenities consist of a Minibar, Hairdryer, Tea/Coffee making Facilities, Radio & WIFI.
‘You’ll have a hard time dragging yourself away from the gigantic cushions — especially when the views are as good as they are in Eyebright, which has enormous windows for admiring the scenery’.
